If you are are considering buying a new or replacement phone system for your hotel or guesthouse business, then your phone supplier needs to be talking to you in detail about the operation, access to hotel telephony features and call billing and access - this needs to be discussed at the site survey stage to avoid costly mistakes.

  • Display indication for calls to 'Room Service', 'Porter', and 'Housekeeping' etc.

  • Wake-Up Calls (Alarm) which can be set from the guest room telephone or by the hotel reception.

Case Study

ToneTel engineers were recently called in to solve a number of issues by a Hotel near Heathrow which their original supplier had been unable to resolve despite 12-months of reports.

Amongst other issues, the hotel had been experiencing very high phone bills and was aware that guests at certain times could make free phone calls from their rooms.

  • Controlling access to phone calls from guest rooms.

  • Programming of call barring to block selected numbers.

  • Securing of unattended hotel staff phones.

  • Programming of emergency lift phones to alert required staff phones.

  • Additional features from guest rooms including 'room service' and 'reception' by press of a single digit.

The hotel had purchased a quality NEC phone system from a supplier advert seen on ebay as a low-cost supply and installation package, however it ended up costing them thousands of pounds extra in phone bills due to poor programming set-up and support.

ToneTel telecom resolved all issues with immediate results seen on the customers next phone bill.
