BT Versatility -
Setting date and time
- From the programming extension (default
Systemphone on Extn. 20) - Press the Program key.
- Scroll down and select System Programming.
- Enter the system PIN (default 1111).
- Select System, and select Time and
Date
- Follow the prompts to enter the time and
date (time should be in 24-hour format)
- Press the HANDS FREE key to finish.

Switch Day/Night Service
- From the programming extension (default
Systemphone on Extn. 20) - Scroll down and select the Night Service
display key, or dial 738.
- When the system is in night service, it will
be indicated on the display.

Versatility - Systemphone key
programming
Below the keypad on the BT Versatility
Systemphone there are programmable keys/lights (8 on a V8 phone, 16 on a V16),
these can be easily programmed to suit your own requirements. You can
programme lines, extensions, features or speed dial numbers onto these keys.
You are prompted to select the key you want to
programme, when you press the chosen key you are prompted to select the
feature - To programme the key with a speed dial number, select the
'individual digits' option.
If programming a key for an external number,
remember to precede the number with a 9 in order to select an external line.
When a feature is selected you can enter a
number by selecting 'Enter data'. This allows you, for example to
programme a key to Divert a call to a particular number.
- On a Systemphone - Press the Program
key.
- Select the Key Programming display key.
- Press one of the programmable keys.
- Select the required feature to programme the
key with.
- Press the HANDS FREE key to finish
programming.

Versatility - Call Log - Review
Calls
Information about the last 350 calls to the
system are automatically stored in the system. The information which is
stored is the calling line number, and the date and time of the call.
Information is not stored for calls withheld or unavailable numbers.
By default the call log is allocated to Extn.
20 as one central store, a message will be indicated on the display of the
Systemphone on Extn. 20 when new unanswered calls have been logged by the
system. Answered calls are indicated with an A, redialled calls are
indicated by an R.
- From Extn 20 - select the Missed Calls
display key.
- You can scroll through the received calls.
- Pressing the display key associated with (next
to) a logged number, will automatically dial the number, numbers that have
already been dialled will be indicated with an 'R'.

Versatility - Setting Call Divert
There are three types of
diversion available from your Versatility system - Divert all calls, Divert on
Busy or Divert on No Answer (default after 4 rings). Calls can be diverted
to another extension, to a voicemail box (if voicemail fitted) or to an external
number (subject to system restrictions).
Systemphone
- Scroll down and select the Divert
display key.
- Select the required type of Diversion
(Divert all calls, Divert on busy or Divert on no answer).
- Then choose the destination of the
diversion (internal extension 21-52 or 9 plus an external phone number,
to divert to voicemail - dial 710).
- To cancel 'Divert on busy' or 'Divert on no
answer' - Scroll down and select the Divert display key, then press
the set diversion display key again to cancel. To cancel 'Divert all
calls' - press the Cancel Divert display key).
Standard Telephone
- Lift handset and dial 732 for 'Divert
all calls', 733 for 'Divert on busy' or 734 for 'Divert on no
answer'.
- The dial the destination of the diversion -
internal extension 21-52 or 9 plus an external phone number,
to divert to voicemail - dial 710).
- Replace handset.
- To cancel a diversion, lift the handset and
dial the code (for the set diversion) again. (i.e. if divert all calls
is set, dial 732 and hang-up to cancel it).

Versatility - Reset Phone
If you unsure what features have been set on an
extension (particularly relevant when using standard telephones) you can
'Reset the phone', a phone reset will cancel the following if they have been
set: Do not Disturb, Divert, Call Back, Messaging, Reminder call.
Systemphone
- Scroll down and select the Phone reset
display key.
Standard telephone
- Lift the handset, dial 739 and wait for
the acknowledgment tone (internal dialtone) then hang-up.

Versatility - Using Voicemail
Turning on Voicemail:
Calls are diverted to voicemail using the
standard divert options (all voicemail boxes have the extension position 710).
Systemphone
- Scroll down and select the Divert display key and
then select one of the divert options (to divert all calls to voicemail -
select Divert all calls), enter 710 as the extension number to
divert to voicemail. To cancel divert - select the Cancel divert display
key or select Divert and press the selected divert again to cancel.
Standard Telephone
- Lift the handset and select one of the divert options (732
- Divert all calls, 733 - Divert on busy, 734 - Divert on no
answer), then dial 710 to divert to voicemail. To cancel - lift
handset and dial selected divert (732, 733 or 734) again
then hang-up.
Entering a personal mailbox greeting:
Systemphone
- Press the Message key and select Voice
Messaging, enter your extension number, passcode (default
1111) and press #. Select Greetings and follow the prompts
to record and check your greeting.
Standard Telephone
- Lift the handset and dial 711 followed by your extension
number, passcode (default 1111) and press #. Dial 91
to record a new greeting, 92 to replay greeting and 93
to delete greeting.
Changing Voicemail security code:
Systemphone
- Press the Message key and select Voice
Messaging, enter your extension number, passcode (default
1111) and press #. Select Change Password and then enter
your new voicemail passcode (up to 8 digits).
Standard Telephone
- Lift the handset and dial 711 followed by your extension
number, passcode (default 1111) and press #. Dial 0
followed by new passcode (up to 8 digits).
Retrieving messages from Voicemail box:
Systemphones will be alerted to new messages by
the MESSAGE light and the display showing 'New Voice Messages'.
Systemphone
- Press the Message key and select Voice
Messaging, enter your extension number, passcode (default
1111) and press #. Follow prompts to play messages.
Standard Telephone
- Lift the handset and dial 711 followed by your extension
number, passcode (default 1111) and press #. Dial 1
to replay messages, dial 2 to save message
and move on, dial 3 to delete message and move on.

Versatility - Using Groups &
Answering Machine
The BT Versatility telephone system can be
programmed with incoming ring or hunt groups, these groups can also be dialled
internally. Groups can be allocated a Group Voice Mailbox, when a
diversion is set or a new messages are waiting in a Group mailbox, all members
of the group will have an indication on the display of a BT Versatility
systemphone. To access Group Voicemail, choose the 'Other then Groups'
option or dial the relevant pilot number 180-199 (Group Extension Number).
A System answering machine can be configured to
answer calls, new messages will be indicated on the Operator Systemphone
(default is Extn 20). The System Answering Machine uses the pilot number
0 as an extension number.

Versatility - Call Pickup - Feature
You can pick up any external call
which is ringing at another extension:
Systemphone
- Select the External call pickup display
key.
Standard telephone
- Lift the handset, dial 726.
You can pickup any call (internal
or external) which is ringing at another extension provided both phones are in
the same group.
Systemphone
- Select the Call pickup display key.
Standard telephone
- Lift the handset, dial 727.

Versatility - Intermittent Single
Ring on standard phones
If your standard telephone rings
once at times after making or receiving a call, this is usually an indication
that you have a new voicemail message, if your telephone supports 'caller
display', the number 711 may be displayed and dependant on model you may also
see the text 'New Message'.
The voicemail system will
periodically remind users when they are back at the desks and making/receiving
calls that they have new voicemail messages, users should access their
voicemail using feature code 711.

message - Extn 20
You may see
the message "Commission System" on the top-line of the display of
your BT Versatility featurephone, this message has no impact on the operation
of your BT Versatility phone system and was designed as a reminder to a BT
installation engineer to "call the system home" to register on a BT
database.
The message is
displayed on initial system supply and whenever the phone system is reset to
factory default parameters. If your a ToneTel Telecom customer and would

Versatility - Conference Call
Extension
users can initiate a 3-way Conference Call between 3 extensions, 2 extensions
and an external number or 2 external numbers and an extension.
Operation
from a System Featurephone
- Whilst on a call, scroll down using the menu
keys and select Internal Conference (for dial another extension) or External
Conference (to dial an external telephone number).
- Dependant on the selection in Step 1 above,
select an extension to be called or select a free line and dial the external
telephone number.
- When the call is answered, select Conference
on the display menu.
From a Standard Telephone: Press the
[R] or RECALL key whilst on a call, place the 2nd call to an external or
internal number, when answered press the [R] or RECALL key again and press 3.
