| Intermittent
single ring on phones |
|
If
your standard telephone rings once at
times after making or receiving a call,
this is usually an indication that you
have a new voicemail message, if your
telephone supports 'caller display', the
number 711 may be displayed and
dependant on model you may also see the
display-text 'New Message'.
The
voicemail system will periodically
remind users when they are back at the
desks and making/receiving calls that
they have new voicemail messages, users
should access their voicemail using
feature code 711. |

| Commission
System Message |
|
You
may see the message "Commission
System" on the top-line of the
display of your BT Versatility
featurephone (on the master extension),
this message has no impact on the
operation of your BT Versatility phone
system and was designed as a reminder to
a BT installation engineer to "call
the system home" to register on a
BT database.
The
message is displayed on initial system
supply and normally when the phone
system is reset to factory default
parameters (after upgrades etc).
You
should contact your telephone system
maintainer and/or supplier for advice on
removing this message (if found to be an
irritation) which in most cases can be
achieved by technical support (dependant
on configuration) and/or by sending an
engineer to configure site numbers and
call the system in.
Please
Note: We do not provide general
support for this issue due to the number
of enquiries we now receive, please
contact your own system maintainer
and/or supplier as we will charge to
send out an engineer to resolve this.
Technical
support is only provided free of charge
to ToneTel Telecom maintained customers,
trade account customers and/or customers
who have had their telephone system
equipment supplied and installed by
us. |

| Firmware
Compatibility (parts) |
|
New
enhancements for the Versatility PBX are
often dependant upon the firmware
revision of the telephone system,
affected modules include the Broadband
Voice Internet Module, Voicemail
Modules, PRI ISDN30 Module and the Mini
External Music-on-Hold extension adapter
plus system facilities including
single-digit automated-attendant.
ToneTel
Telecom ensure all our installed systems
are upgraded to the latest revision
available and support all installed
modules.
If
you are experiencing problems with a
module or a facility it may well be due
to your telephone system being on a
earlier firmware revision which is not
compatible. ToneTel Telecom can
advise on this and send an engineer to
upgrade your BT Versatility telephone
system.
Please
Note: Firmware upgrade is
completed by a trained engineer using
engineer-version software on
laptop. A short period of
telephone downtime will be required to
complete the procedure. |

| Phone
display 'Initialising' |
| BT
Versatility V8 and V16 digital
featurephones will show "Initialising'
on the display in the following
situations:
- When
the phone system is rebooted, the
phones will show "initialising"
for a short time before returning to
normal display with time/date.
- If
a single telephone is continues to
show "initialising"
this can be the sign of a wiring or
port problem, try another telephone
in the socket and try the original
telephone in a known working
extension socket before seeking
guidance from you phone system
maintainer and/or supplier.
- If
all telephones display (and continue
to display) the message "initialising"
even after a reboot, this
potentially means the phone system
has encountered a serious failure
during boot. It is likely that
the main phone system motherboard or
Central Control Unit will need to be
replaced or a connected system
module - an engineer visit can
determine the failed hardware -
please contact your system
maintainer and/or supplier.
