| The BT Versatility,
BT Pathway, BT Inspiration and BT Revelation are all manufactured for BT
by Lake Communications (now part of Inter-Tel) in Eire. Lake
manufactured telephone systems have sold around the world under various
brand names. |

Note [1] The BT Revelation did
receive a late upgrade to support ISDN2 with a BRI expansion module,
however not all Revelation system support it, they are of very limited
availability and offer limited features.
Note [2] The BT Versatility can be
equipped with up to 8 x standard analogue lines or 8 x ISDN2e channels,
the PRI option provides up to 15 x ISDN30e channels (these capacities
may be raised in the future).
Note [3] The BT Versatility offers
various voice module options including 2-Port (2-Hour), 4-Port (4-Hour)
& 8-Port (20-Hour), all modules can provide over 50 personal and/or
group mailboxes.
Limited DISA - DISA with Voice
Module allows a message to be played to callers prompting them for the
extension number they require (i.e. dial 21 for Sam, 22 for Alex etc),
it is not recommended that the service is used in conjunction with voice
mailboxes as the module is a single port which also means it can only
answer 1 call at a time.

| BT
Versatility |
| The BT
Versatility is BT's current small to medium business phone
system. The best yet of this range of BT business systems it
continues the heritage of easy to use, menu-driven system featurephones
and initial starting size is 2 lines 8 extensions. With
expandability for over 30 extensions with analogue trunk or ISDN2 and
ISDN30e connections the Versatility system maintains the hybrid
flexibility with all extensions suitable for standard analogue phones,
cordless or system featurephones. Caller ID (Display) is supported
on all lines (ISDN and analogue) as standard and will also be shown on
suitably equipped standard analogue telephones, indeed many will also show
client or extension names as well as the number. |

Availability:
Most Versatility parts are widely available new or second-user, though
some certain items are still rare. Parts availability will improve
due to the large number of Versatility systems that have been installed
that eventually will be decommissioned as companies grow larger or need a
more advanced phone system. |
The
Versatility featurephones are available in 2 versions, the popular V8 with
large menu-driven display, handsfree and 8 programmable keys or the V16
which has the option of a backlit display (with PSU), 16 programmable keys
and can be expanded with an additional key console. |

| The BT
Pathway was a very popular phone system with thousands installed and great
feedback due to the user friendly interface. The system had a short
life and was discontinued in 2006 for new supply due to BT politics.
The BT Pathway was an upgraded version of the original favourite - the BT
Inspiration, BT Pathway offers expandability to 8 lines (analogue or
ISDN2) and 18 extensions. All extension ports are hybrid and can be
equipped with standard telephones or system featurephones. Caller ID
(Display) is supported as standard on ISDN or analogue lines and will be
shown on the display of the system featurephones. The BT Pathway
system is still available for installation new or refurbished. |

| Parts
Availability:
Pathway parts are widely available new or second-user, the only shortage
is the 'handsfree' version of the featurephone but note that the Inter-Tel
Encore ' handsfree' phone can be used instead. There is still good
stocks of most expansion parts and central control units. This
should continue for years to come. |
The
Pathway featurephones are available in 2 versions, the 'handsfree' or
'monitor-speakerphone'. Both telephones have 8 programmable keys,
large menu-driven display and are very user friendly with their intuitive
menu options. Please note: although they look similar Pathway
featurephones cannot be used on the BT Inspiration system (or vice versa). |

| The BT
Inspiration is still widely used in many UK businesses and is still
available for new installations as an economical second-user phone
system. One of BT's most popular switches in its day, it was ahead
of its time with user friendly menu-driven phone inteface. Maximum
expansion is 8 lines (analogue or ISDN2) and 18 extensions, standard
telephones, cordless phones or the BT Inspiration system featurephone can
be used on all extension ports. Caller ID (display) is supported to
System featurephones on analogue or ISDN 2 lines. A very good
second-user starter phone system for the small business. |

| Parts
Availability:
Most Inspiration parts and complete systems are in very good supply at due
to the large number of businesses originally installed who have
grown too large for the phone system after years or use. Most parts
are available with only ISDN cards and the original phone management
software being in short supply. |
The
Inspiration system featurephone features 8 programmable keys, large
menu-driven display and is fully handsfree with call alerting &
message waiting lamp. Please Note: although they look similar
Inspiration featurephones cannot be used on the BT Pathway system (or vice
versa). |

| The BT
Revelation is getting a bit dated now but was very popular in the late
nineties and many home and business are still using this trusty workhorse
today more than 10 years after installation. Maximum expansion is up
to 4 analogue lines and 12 extensions, all extensions are hyrbid and
standard telephones or BT Revelation system telephones can be used.
The later model Mark-2 of the system also supports caller display to
system telephones. The BT Revelation still occasionally gets
installed new when a basic very low cost phone switching system is
required or as a temporary basic phone system. |

| Parts
Availability:
Almost all Revelation parts are available at low cost including expansion
boards, voice modules and central control units. Revelation system
telephones are still widely available but good quality ones with full
handsfree support are getting harded to get hold of as the phone system
ages. |
The
Revelation system telephone is looking dated now (described as clunky by
some users) but was modern and feature-rich in its time with 16
programmable function or one-touch keys with lamps, handsfree working,
display with feature prompts and fixed faclity keys. |
